Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation

The Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation (VHEDC) is a crucial ally to local businesses. They work to connect local businesses, governments and non-profits with each other. They also can act as an important resource in helping businesses with site selection and working with financial, real estate and legal issues surrounding new developments.

Willow Lake Dental has been working with the Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation since our first year. They have been a key source of information and connections as we have started our business in Vadnais Heights. Their staff and investors are well connected and very helpful in getting new businesses up to speed with the local community. The people we have met and advice we have received have been very valuable. The annual dinner and awards ceremony is a lot of fun too. We’ve attended in the past and have enjoyed learning about other local businesses and their leaders.

This past year I have worked with the VHEDC HR networking group. This group was put together to give HR professionals from Vadnais Heights and surrounding communities an opportunity to meet each other and share best practices. This has been especially helpful to me as a small business owner since I have to wear so many hats each day. Learning from professionals in the field has helped us build our skills in an area we needed help.

The VHEDC has workforce development programs with the local high schools and community college to connect students with businesses in the community. These programs provide an opportunity for people to learn about jobs and industries and develop their professional networks.

Anyone who owns or is considering opening a business in Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, Shoreview or the surrounding areas should reach out to the VHEDC and see what they have to offer. They have a full calendar of events, from job fairs, the Vadnais Height Farmers Market, to a community wide business expo. Most importantly, they are a resource for business, government, education and community leaders to connect and build upon the place we live and work.
