So it’s been a while you say? a couple of years you say?…
Willow Lake Dental is here to help. We think there is enough guilt and shame in this world, so leave that in the parking lot and come on in; we are ready to get you back on track.
Our clinic is comfortable with a calming, at-home feel to it. We’re not like every other clinic you may be used to. Stop by to see what we are all about!
We’d love to become the new dental home for you and your family. We think that once you get started with your treatment, you’ll be glad that you did and glad that you chose Willow Lake Dental!
What is the process like for someone who wants to get back to having healthy teeth and gums?
- Health history: We use this to prepare for your examination as many health issues can contribute to problems within your mouth. We want to make sure that any health issues and/or medications are taken into account as we determine what’s best for you.
- X-Rays and other imaging: Willow Lake Dental utilizes state of the art digital x-ray and imaging equipment to diagnose and aid in the treatment of any issues you may have. At your initial visit, we will use these images to develop your treatment plan and go over it with you.
- Comprehensive or problem focused exam: Depending on the circumstances of your first visit (scheduled vs. emergency), Dr. Tracy will perform either a comprehensive or limited/problem focused oral exam. The purpose of this is to assess the oral health of the patient so we can develop a treatment plan for both restorative and preventative treatments.
After your exam, we’ll go over the results with you and develop a plan to address your oral health needs.
Hygiene:
There are three levels of cleanings that you may need if you haven’t been in to a dental office in a few years. Which one you will need is dependent on the condition of your gums, teeth and surrounding tissue. This will be determined during the exam portion of your visit where you will be able to talk to Ashley and Dr. Tracy about any questions or concerns you may have.
We will work to make sure that you understand what we are proposing so can make an informed decision. We want to make sure that your cleanings are as comfortable as possible, so we use a combination of hand instruments and ultrasonic cleaning equipment to make the process take less time out of your schedule and offer anesthetic to limit any discomfort you may feel.
Each of our patient rooms is equipped with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and we have several options for topical and local anesthetics to make your experience as comfortable and pain free as possible.
Dr. Tracy:
Many times, Dr. Tracy is able to get started with your treatment the day you come in for your initial visit. Dr. Tracy has been practicing for nearly a decade and has seen many complicated cases. Her chairside manner is calm and measured. You are in good hands!
Dr. Tracy will carefully explain all of your treatment options so you have a clear picture of your situation. She believes that it is worth taking the time to fully explain a patient’s situation before beginning any treatment. She has a long-term outlook on the patient/dentist relationship and would like to develop the trust and understanding that comes with having a long-term caregiver.
